香蕉女郎是英国最佳女子三人组合，80年代初就已出道，起初并不显眼，后与The Fun Boy Three合作， 才开始被人们认识。从1982年 至 1984年，她们演唱的《ShyBoy》，《Cruel Summer》等开始在英国流行歌曲排行榜上崭露头角，进入前五名，不过真正大红大紫的歌曲还是1986年的旧曲新唱《维纳斯(venus)》，之后的《爱之罪(Love In The First Degree)》等歌曲也一直在英国流行歌坛占据位置。 1987年，歌手Siobhan结婚离开，导致乐组暂停了活动，引起无数歌迷关切。没过多久，由前The Shillelagh Sister成员Jaiquie填补了空缺，新的演唱组仍保持活泼热情、节奏感强烈的演唱风格，活跃于歌坛上。
